  • Lindsay Kovarik - Facilitator

    Lindsay joined the Foundation team in 2018 following a decade of experience working in Chicago Public Schools. Lindsay earned her undergraduate degree in education at the University of Michigan and her graduate degree at the University of Illinois in education policy, organization, and leadership. She is committed to supporting educators in the exploration of what is possible for all students through shifting mindsets and removing barriers. Lindsay has worked as a teacher, instructional coach, and acting assistant principal. In addition to those roles, she has led professional development at the network level as well as for the Department of Literacy.   • Jennifer Larry - Facilitator

    A Chicago native, Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from DePaul University. While in undergrad, Jennifer spent time teaching adult English language learners and tutoring a wide range of students. Those experiences led her to realize her love and aptitude for teaching. That love led her to pursue and complete a Master’s of Arts in Teaching degree from Concordia University. After spending time as a paraeducator and classroom teacher, Jennifer joined the Gust Foundation team as an Inclusion Facilitator in 2015.   • Elizabeth Powell - Facilitator

    Elizabeth is an educator and attorney who is passionate about creating access for all and expanding opportunity for students. Originally from Kentucky, Elizabeth started her teaching career in New York City’s public schools where she worked in a program designed to fully include students on the autism spectrum. In Chicago, Elizabeth continued her work toward inclusion and access with Chicago Public Schools first as a special educator and later in a district leadership role. Elizabeth joined the Foundation to continue this advocacy by partnering with schools to strategically, sustainably, and practically expand opportunity for all by ensuring access for all.   • Susan Gust - Director

    Susan and her husband, Chris, began the work of inclusion and access for all students by creating a public/private partnership with Chicago Public Schools in 2004. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received her MBA from Northwestern University. Susan holds a strong belief that the work of building more inclusive and equitable communities begins in our schools and that every student is entitled to the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.   • Mary Kurczak - Operations Manager

    Mary is a strong advocate and dedicated Mom for her two adult sons who attended Chicago Public Schools (PreK-12). She has decades of multi-faceted corporate experience which facilitate her roles as the Foundation’s Operations Manager. Mary attended Northeastern Illinois University and enjoys participating in and coaching team sports.
